Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will be headlining the 2011 Global Green Pre-Oscar party at The Avalon in Hollywood on February 23, with support performances by Portugal. The Man and Best Coast.

The prestigious benefit helps raise awareness and funding for Global Green’s environmental messages and programs. As the only environmentally themed event of Oscar week, the gathering generates enormous media coverage thanks to its proximity to the Academy Awards, celebrity participation, and musical performances by top artists. Tickets are on sale now at globalgreen.org/events, ranging from $55 to $1,000 for VIP status.

BRMC just returned from another near yearlong trek around the globe following the release of their fifth studio album, Beat The Devil’s Tattoo, and reached a significant milestone playing their 1000th show at a sold out Brixton Academy in the UK. Tapping into their extensive catalog, the trio performed songs from their highly lauded repertoire and included surprise highlights such as a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” The band’s gripping and impassioned live show has hoisted them to must-see status, prompting 90% of their shows to sell out, in the States and abroad.

We’re happy to announce that we will be doing a series of free shows in Las Vegas at The Book & Stage inside the new Cosmopolitan Hotel. February 15th (10pm) and February 16th (10pm and midnight).
