therange.wordpress.com presents...

Gratuitous photo of BRMC drummer Leah Shapiro, who is a babe.

Well, the fun just keeps rolling on on the Wednesday Range. The prospect of the next interview reduced Richard and Mateo to giggling school-children levels of excitement – Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, the meanest-looking indie rock band in the whole wide world. There was so much to discuss (say, the band’s internal troubles, progression of their sound, new drummer Leah Shapiro, their strong visual aesthetic… we can keep on going!) that we’re doing something we’ve done before, splitting it up into two weeks’ worth of interview.

Relaxing in their spare time.
Listen below to part 1. We’ll bring you part 2 (and maybe Sam!) on the 11th, but in the meantime, enjoy Richard and Mateo’s interview with Leah and Robert (which, for those of you interested in banal trivia, took place in the bar of the Crowne Plaza hotel, on Hindmarsh Square):

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club interview (part 1) – MP3, 3.51MB

Last week, the Wednesday Range brought you part 1 of Richard and Mateo’s titanic, gargantuan, colossal interview with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. In fact, the interview proved too much of the above, so they’ve decided to air the second part this week.

Not sure if want.
Listen below as drummer Leah Shapiro and bassist Robert Been aka Robert Turner are asked about Twilight, the pressure that was really on incoming drummer Shapiro, and, to begin, why ‘rock & roll is being pushed out of the game’. Come for the cool interview, stay for Richard making a fool of himself at the end. Listen to part 1 here.

sadly, non of the recordings was recorded by me...i just dig them out searching and searching.....

and at this point i have to say HUGE THANKS to lazyfukc - as big part of the recordings i have found on his website - www.brmc-recordings.co.uk all the people from official forum and www.brmc-forum.com and last but not least, mysterious BRMC fan i presume - kristo-caro .

now...what is really important...

all bootlegs posted below are approved by the band and management !!!

BTDT underwater...

By Jeff Toorish

Here’s a pretty unusual Beat the Devil’s Tattoo tag –the photo was shot at about 150 feet under water in Casco Bay, in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Cape Elizabeth Maine.

I found your song on the website Free Music Archives. Thank you for making it available for non-commercial use. It is a fantastic song. I grew up in the recording business, my father is a musician and song-writer and has several gold albums from the 1950s.

The photo was taken by gently tracing the accumulated silt from the side of a sunken ship, the Jessica Ann.
It was shot while a team of underwater explorers were attempting to salvage a porthole from the ship. The porthole was attached to the ship so securely, that it seemed as if the Devil himself had tattooed it onto the ship.
I’ve made a music video using your song –you can see it here: http://vimeo.com/13596712.

Here is a short video about the the Jessica Ann, if you are interested: http://vimeo.com/12720540.

Hopefully Black Rebel Motorcycle Club will tour in New England some day –I know a lot of people who would come to hear the group.
